As you maybe aware, fundraising for Isaac and Quincy - The Internet show! finished a while back and we raised a whopping… $350!

$350 isn't enough to make a web series, is it?

Nope but we've got a plan! With the money Indiegogoer's donated we're going to put it towards making a brand new, one-off, mega awesome, 3 minute+ Isaac and Quincy short.

So it's just a one-off sketch then?

Yeah BUT here's the exciting news: the production company in L.A. got in contact during the fundraising and offered the chance to 're-pitch' Isaac and Quincy to some other TV networks in the USA... if we make a new short.

Cool! But why can't you go back and re-pitch with the original short then?

The problem with the original Isaac and Quincy was that too much time was spent on the plot/story and not enough on our central characters; Isaac and Quincy*.

So whats next?

We've finished the script (which puts Isaac and Quincy at the centre of the action) and we're recording the actors this week, and then we're off!

When do we get to see it?

We've started making the making-of as we speak (type?) and we'll be posting relevant updates soon!

We could try and fund 'Isaac and Quincy - The Internet Show!' ourselves, by attempting to win another random film competition. However, we thought Indiegogo would be a more interesting route because:

1) In the process of pimping our Indiegogo campaign, Isaac and Quincy is getting seen by more people.

2) If we do manage to raise enough to make the show then it proves Isaac and Quincy has an audience.

Who are 'Isaac and Quincy'?

Isaac and Quincy are two superfly detectives who live and work in Big City:
home to big dreams, big boobs and big crime! With the help of B.C.P.D.'s finest (nut-jobs),
they attempt to serve up some justice... Afro Justice!

What is 'Isaac and Quincy - The TV Show?

Have you tried pitching 'Isaac and Quincy - The TV Show?' to real TV Networks?

Yes! We got flown out to L.A. in 2010 and pitched it to a string of major TV Networks.
None of them bought it.

After we had a little cry, we realized, just because the networks rejected it,
doesn't mean we can't make Isaac and Quincy or that there isn't an audience
out there who'll enjoy it. We don't need their permission... We just need a way to fund it!

So, now what?

We want to make 10 mini-episodes of Isaac and Quincy - The Internet show!
Each episode would be around a minute in length, giving a bite-size glimpse
into the weird-ass world of Big City. We would release a new episode every week
on our YouTube channel, teaandcheese.com and newgrounds.com.

$16,000 (£10,000) is a lot, why do you need so much?

From start to finish, it'll take us four months, flat out, to make 'Isaac and Quincy - The Internet Show!'. Animation is extremely time intensive, so 60% of the budget will go towards us being able to work on the show as a full-time job, for four months.

In terms of production, we do pretty much everything ourselves, but other costs include:
- 10-20% of our total funds will go towards actors fees & studio time.
- Another 10% will go towards making and distributing all the perks to our awesome donators!
- An unavoidable 10% of our total will be eaten by fund raising fees and currency exchange.

What happens if you don't raise all the funds?

Each episode (before the above costs) will cost roughly $1600 (£1000) to make.
If we don't raise enough funds we'll make as many episodes as we can afford.
For example, if we only raise $8000 (£5000) then we'll make 5 episodes.
However, if we raise more funds than we've asked for, that equals more episodes!

When can I see the first episode?

The first episode will go live in early January 2012!

Why do we have to wait so long?

We need time to pimp the show once it's gone public, and we're gonna be way to busy
to do that if we're still making the show at the same time. We'll release the first episode once
we've made the majority of the season...and that's going to take us four months.

Why should I donate?

Because you can be part of something awesome!
The only reason we needed the TV networks to begin with was that they would effectively given us a full-time job making a TV show. But if you, the shiny-happy general public, are willing to pay for Isaac and Quincy to get made, then we don't need a network!

Even $10 will make a difference and what could be cooler than saying you helped make an animated series?! Still not convinced? Take a look at the perks list… it's pretty sweet :D

The whole process of making Isaac and Quincy will be documented through teaandcheese.com, twitter and our blog. We will keep you posted on everything that's happening, meaning you can come on the journey with us!

Production timetable:
September
We plan to have all the writing and story-boarding done by the end of fund raising.
(Back when we pitched Isaac and Quincy to the networks, we were asked to come up with the first nine episodes, so we are a-wash with cool I&Q ideas). So as soon as we have the funds, we can get straight to work!

The first thing we'll be doing is a mega-recording session with all the actors.
A whole seasons worth of scripts will be recorded, all at once!
We'll begin creating all our animated 'assets' (anything and everything you will see in the
show - characters, buildings, cars and so on and so on...). We made over 500 individual assets for our original pitch video, so this is a big job!
Also, we'll be busy producing and distributing all the relevant perks to our beautiful donors!

October - January
The animation begins! This is simply hours and hours of (sometimes infuriating) work sat in front of our computers bringing our bad-ass hero's to life! Each episode/sketch, from start to finish, should take about two weeks to produce.

Once an episode is completely animated and the voice over from the actors has been added, it's still missing two vital ingredients: Sound and music! Liam will then write the musical score whilst Jamie creates the sound design.

Finally, we watch it a bunch of times to check it's definitely awesome and then... phew, it's done!
We'll add it to the pile and get back to making more :D
Last but not least, we'll be tweeting, blogging, creating 'making-of' videos, and just generally documenting the whole process of making Isaac and Quincy - The Internet Show!

Rushes Soho Shorts 2011! Checkout the trailer:

in particular Aardman's/SumoScience's Nokia Dot and the The Eagleman Stag (BAFTA winner).

We don't have a chance in hell of winning, but it's a HUGE honour to be picked!

Isaac and Quincy is our new animated short that we hope will get us, yep you've guessed it, a TV Show!

Isaac and Quincy are two superfly detectives who live and work in Big City: home to big dreams, big boobs and big crime! Each episode introduces a bizarre new case and with the help of B.C.P.D.'s finest (nut-jobs), they attempt to serve up some justice... Afro Justice!

Originally a university film project of tea's from way back in 2006... 'Isaac and Quincy - Afro Justice' was a Blaxploitation style, fake movie trailer, made entirely with LEGO. Years of eating tea and drinking cheese later, we can now proudly present a newly revised (and frankly much better) version, in a pixel style!

If it appears we've been quiet of late, it's because we've been working our butts off on a project, that started way back in 2009...

And tomorrow, after months of transatlantic skype calls and planning, we fly to LA, to pitch our new animation, as a TV show!

What we can say about the project is limited at this point, but it's good news for all the YouTube fans who have asked for more videos in the pixel style... this animation is retro-pixel all over yo ass!

How we've gone from making films in our bedrooms (and tiolet), to getting two very cool Hollywood actors to voice our main characters and, now, pitching in LA is quite an unbelieveable story. So we're creating a mini-movie about the whole thing to put on our youtube & vimeo channel.

tea&cheese provide music for iPhone/iPod game 'Waterslide Extreme'

Dare Digital and FishLabs have developed an iphone/ipod game based on the Barclaycard waterslide TV advert, available for free download from the iTunes app store as of mid-July.

The game allows the user to ride a series of waterslides through urban environments and you can see a sneek peak here:

Dare asked us to produce three funky tracks for the game, a portion of which can be heard on the youtube video.

We just can't wait to actually play it!

Sadly we're to busy to go to the Glastonbury Festival this year but if your there you might just see 8-Bit Waterslide in REAL LIFE! playing on the 'Big Screen'. Its also included in BBC Big Screen Live Sites programme so it'll be screened across the UK via the BBC Big Screens network. Sweet:)
